Art as a social practice – your path to a creative future!

The Master's programme in Arts and Community at HKS Ottersberg is unique in Germany and offers an interdisciplinary education with two specialisations:

Master of Arts (M.A.) – for art therapy, art education or theatre pedagogy in social and clinical fields of practice.

Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) – for artistic research interventions in public and institutional spaces.

The programme focuses on an independent research project that examines a socially relevant issue from an artistic and scientific perspective.

Important dates:
Application deadline: 20 June 2025 (winter semester 2025/2026).
Entrance examinations: 7 July 2025 & 8 July 2025

A one-time admission exam fee of 95 € applies.
